Bethel Woods Center for the Arts

Opening in 2006, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is a $100 million performing arts center and museum, 90 minutes from New York City at the site of the original 1969 Woodstock festival. The Pavilion Stage accommodates 15,000 guests under cover and on a naturally sloping lawn, with views of the original festival site and surrounding countryside. Other facilities include the 1,000-seat Terrace Stage, the Event Gallery – a glass-enclosed rotunda for indoor concerts, lectures and receptions – and the Museum, which opened in 2008 and explores the unique experience of Woodstock, its significance as the culminating event of the decade and the legacy of the 60’s and Woodstock today.

Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center

The Villa Roma Resort is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a 2010 Fodor’s Choice Award, given to the “best of the best” in hotel/resort destinations providing remarkable experiences in price range, destination or category. Having completed a $25 million renovation in 2008, “The Villa” wrapped up a record-breaking 2010 vacation season, in spite of the recession.

  Monticello Motor Club

The Monticello Motor Club opened in 2008 boasting a world-class driving circuit with some of the longest “straights” in the country, designed by preeminent track architect Bruce Hawkins and race legend Brian Redman. The private club offers professional instruction, track-side support, premium car storage, fine dining and five-star service. The road course is set on 175 wooded acres of undulating terrain within the Village of Monticello, 90 miles from Manhattan. The club has made a $16 million investment in only the first phase of development. Future plans include a five-star hotel and conference center, an off-road course, a custom-tuning shop, additional auto storage and Autominiums – luxury condominiums with garages and trackside access.

Route 97 Scenic Byway & Ft. Delaware Visitors’ Center

The Scenic Byway has been busy with two new projects in 2010: first, a study of “viewsheds” and selective cutting of vegetation to enhance vistas along the river; and second, collaborating with the County to commission a feasibility-design study for a new visitors’ center at the Fort Delaware historic site, located at Kirks Road in Narrowsburg. A year-round facility at Fort Delaware will allow educational programming to extend into the winter season and will orient visitors arriving from Pennsylvania or traveling along the Byway to attractions throughout the County. Studio d’ARC, an award-winning architecture firm based in Pittsburgh and Montreal, competed for and won the contract for the design study.
